Join us for an exciting guided tour of Hamburg Art Week and discover the diversity of Hamburg’s vibrant art scene!

From 3–6 September, around 100 art spaces come together across Hamburg for the Founding Edition of CROSSING CURRENTS – Hamburg Art Week. Six curated Art Routes, called CURRENTS, flow through the city, each with its own character showing the diversity and richness of Hamburg’s contemporary art scene.

The guided tour features a selection of art spaces and art works from the Blue Current.

In TO BUILD TO BURY TO REMEMBER, artist Sarah Ama Duah brings sculpture and the body together in a performative installation that reconsiders the politics of remembrance. The performance is a Kampnagel production in cooperation with Crossing Currents – Hamburg Art Week and Hamburger Kunsthalle.

Hosted by German-Lebanese gallerist and art historian Andrée Sfeir-Semler, and moderated by author and journalist Pablo Larios, this international discussion explores how cultural platforms can contribute to a city’s identity and development. The panel invites international guests to consider questions of visibility, cultural positioning and how an Art Week can create lasting relevance beyond the temporary spectacle.
