BUSS GRUPPE
BUSS GRUPPE
ART
When the company moved from the Free Port to HafenCity, the idea arose to decorate the new building with contemporary art. Modern and cosmopolitan works that address social and cultural themes reflect the company’s identity. This has resulted in a collection at the Hamburg America Centre that impressively brings together different perspectives and forms of expression. A significant part of this collection comes from the private collection of managing partner Dr Johann Killinger. On display are works by, amongst others, Portia Zvavahera, Thorsten Brinkmann, Wolfgang Tillmanns and William Eggleston.
COMPANY
The Buss Group was founded in 1920 by Gerd Buss as a stevedoring company in Hamburg. Today, the company is an internationally active service provider in maritime logistics
operating in the sectors of port logistics, shipping, energy, logistics property and investments. The managing partner is Dr Johann Killinger. In 2002, he acquired all the shares and developed the group into a diversified enterprise with a focus on energy. Today, the Buss Group is, amongst other things, the market leader in base ports for the offshore wind industry. It also initiates and develops projects such as the Hanseatic Energy Hub (an LNG terminal in Stade) and Hanseatic Hydrogen (an electrolyser for hydrogen production). It embodies Hanseatic tradition and innovative strength
