Dieter Roth Museum

The Dieter Roth Museum in Hamburg is an artist museum established by the German-Swiss artist Dieter Roth (1930–1998) in a townhouse on the Outer Alster in the early 1970s. Unlike a traditional museum, Roth personally selected the works and determined their presentation, giving the house an authentic insight into all phases of his artistic practice.

Alongside paintings, sculptures and installations, the collection includes prints, artist’s books, sketches and collaborative works. The museum is run by the Dieter Roth Foundation, which researches, preserves and promotes the artist’s work.
